Updated: Apr 12
A week ago, inside linebacker Collin Oliver listed his top eight schools that he was considering. The list included Arkansas, Iowa State, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, TCU, Texas Tech, and Utah.
The 6-foot-2, 220 linebacker attends Edmond Santa Fe High School in Edmond, Oklahoma. He's currently the number one ranked linebacker and fourth overall in Oklahoma on 247sports.
In the past few months, Oliver has been able to visit Iowa State, TCU, and Texas Tech.
I spoke with Oliver on Sunday about his top eight, how the coronavirus has affected his recruitment, and more.
Q: What is something that people should know about Collin Oliver?
A: “How humble and thankful I am to be put in this position I’m in and how grateful I am to have people who care about me around me.”
Q: What would you say your biggest strength as a player is?
A: “My biggest strength is my versatility.”
Q: Recently you visited TCU, Iowa State, and Texas Tech. How did those visits go for you?
A: “All those visits went well. They shed light on areas I was confused on.”
Q: Which other schools do you still plan on visiting?
A: “I plan on visiting Utah, Arkansas, and Ole Miss.”
Q: Which schools recruiting you have impressed you the most?
A: “I’d have to say there is no clear impressive school. They all recruit me well and show a lot of love.”
Q: Will you be cutting the list to a smaller number or will you be committing next?
A: “I will more than likely be committing next if the man above allows it.”
Q: Do you know around when you will be committing?
A: “It will either be late summer to early August. I have no clear window.”
Q: Has the coronavirus had an impact on any camps or college visits you were planning on taking?
A: “Yes of course, it’s made it difficult to look at places I may want to go to visit.”
